Top Ten

One day, in the middle of toxicities, Ma'am Ching comes to me and hands me two plastic gift bags from Mercury Drug Store.

Ma'am Ching: "Doctora Robles, dumaan dito kahapon ang Assistant Manager ng Mercury Drug Store hinahanap kayo ni Dr. Hugo. Kaso wala na kayo, kaya ako nalang nagrecieve."

ME: "Ano yan ma'am?"

Ma'am Ching: "May regalo sila sa inyo kasi daw nasa Top Ten daw kayo ng pinakamaraming riseta ng gamot na binibili sa kanila".

(Before I go on, I'd like to make a disclaimer, Dr. Hugo and I had no idea about Mercury Drug Store's PR tactics, and I never tell my patients where to buy their medications, as long as they take them regularly. Just for the record, my conscience is clean. hehehe! )

Inside the gift bags were two Mercury Drug Store coin purses, two 2012 calendars, two copies of Enrich Magazine (with our names on them)and a big red and white Mercury Drug Store umbrella.

I gave the calendars to Ma'am Ching and the coin purses to Manang B and Nanay Ring. I left the umbrella at the call-room, because I rarely use umbrellas anyway. And the magazines are still unopened in our living room. But when I got them, I felt like I won a lottery or something!

Hahaha!
