Zambales, Spicy Spaghetti ala Kuaila, and Promise Struttin' Down the Street

Chapter 1: ZAMBALES

I thought it was just going to be another sleepy, rainy weekend when I could sit and read a book (or pretend to read a book) and sip hot coffee and play with Promise when she's not busy scribbling on our walls with her So Big crayons.

But no.

Christopher woke me up at 5:30 in the morning and told me to pack up and get dressed because we were going to an overnight trip to Bulacan. Except that we drove past Bulacan and on to Subic (where I happily bought a jar of Nutella at a cheap price) and further on to a small town in Zambales where one of his female co-residents has a cousin who owns a hidden paradise resort. It was a six hour drive, and my butt fell asleep on me more than once, just to get to a beach on a very rainy day. But the Nutella was worth it, and so was the company(haha!).

Zambales is probably the farthest North I've ever been to, so at least that's a little bit of broadening horizons. Anyway, the pictures were nice as well.

Stopped at Starbucks for coffee

Ah, the sweetness... I will drive another 6 hours for a lovely shot like this...but probably in another day! haha! Photo by Joe.

Chapter 2: SPICY SPAGHETTI ALA KUAILA

So while I was driving to Zambalez with Christopher and his Ortho buddies, my oldest friend Kuaila was taking this exam. Apparently it was a very important exam and she topped it, ranking 6th nationwide (woohoo!).

So she invited us to dinner and she made spicy spaghetti.

I brought the drinks and Joe brought the ice cream. And there's nothing like a home cooked meal to spice up a celebration. :)

Chapter 3: Promise Struttin' Down the Street

While all the commotion of Zambales Trips and Important Exams were taking up most of people's time, my daughter, for whom time is simply the distance between milk bottles, has discovered the vanity of eye-wear.

And so we bought her her very first pair of dark glasses. She doesn't need them, I know. But She likes them and I'm only a doting mom so how can I possibly resist the cuteness?

Anyway, this morning she was very clingy. She wouldn't let go when it was time to say goodbye for work.

So her dad decided that they can walk me to the corner of the street.

Shades and all...

And my, she was struttin' :) haha!

So that's my baby girl for you. And despite the hassle of commute just a few minutes after these photos were taken, it was still such a very, very good morning!

:)
