My father has a very practical view of life. Stories passed down to us by our aunts and grandparents include psuedo-fairytales of how he wooed our mother and her family with a monkey wrench and some screws instead of bouquets and poetry...
There are only three basic things you need to know about "fixing" things:
1. If it's leaking and it's not supposed to, "DUCT TAPE" it.
2. IF it's supposed to leak and nothing comes out of it, "WD40" it.
3. NEVER leave it to time. Call DAD.
The trouble with my family is that we are not the hugging, kissing, spill-your woes-to-me-over-warm-chocolates type of family. And I'm fine with that. Our dad is a man of few words. But when he does say something, he really says something.
And last year, he gave me his 1975 UST College of Medicine Class Ring.
And I'm still wearing it 'round my neck
Like a totem.
If he knew the things that I'm going through now, he'd probably say: "Pull yourself together and WD40 it... but about that other matter: DUCT TAPE IT! QUICK! Because Time won't do it for you."
Now all I need is someone to help me hold "it" down so I can do this.
Ayos bah mga tol? ;P
