Thank God for Red Velvet Ice Cream, Pigeons Who Don't Have Anxiety Attacks When Approached By Humans, Paco Park, Digital Cameras and Trigger Happy People Who Own Digital Cameras!

CHAPTER 1: RED VELVET ICE CREAM

There are so many things to be thankful for in this lovely, lovely world. It's amazing how our options for happiness have tripled and quadrupled. When I was little the choices of ice cream flavors were limited to Buko, Choco, Manga, Keso and Ube (bilang dirty ice cream ang kinauukulan). Last weekend with my good friend Yinyin, my daughter had an array of ice cream choices to choose from, including almond, pistaccio, sans rival and red velvet.

And the winner was Red Velvet. Because it's Red Velvet.

It was probably a bad idea to dress her in white...

...but this kind of happiness couldn't possibly be worth less than something that can be solved by the right detergent.

I do decree, every kind of childhood should have ice cream in it. :)

CHAPTER 2: PACO PARK AND PIGEONS WHO DON'T HAVE ANXIETY ATTACKS WHEN APPROACHED BY HUMANS

In fact, it's the other way around. Promise backs up just a little bit when a pigeon decides she's a safe human to hang around with. :)

We went to Paco Park after the ice cream. I heard it was a lovely place but I've never been there despite my workplace being near. And since it was a free Saturday, the nice walk around the old chapel was worth the try.

Promise got excited when she saw the water fountain. There were pigeons there as well. She pointed and said: "Mommy, boodie, mamam, gogo!" ("Mommy, Birdie, mamam (drink), ligo!")

And I thought to myself, "HEY! That was a four-word sentence from my one year old baby girl!" Promise is a happiness that comes in a series of little surprises. Last year, I never would have thought this whole motherhood thing was a daily wonder.

CHAPTER 3: DIGITAL CAMERAS AND TRIGGER HAPPY PEOPLE WHO OWN DIGITAL CAMERAS

Namely Atep. :)

And Yinyin. :)

So that what used to be moments that just pass us by can now be frozen in a frame, bringing with it that small piece of time you can carry with you until the end of your days.

Thanks for the pictures guys. :)
